Artist's Description

Glad To Be Home - poem by He Zhizhang (賀知章) of Tang Dynasty in his collection of "Returning Hometown" 《回鄉偶書》

This poem records the scene when the poet returned to his hometown after absent for decades. Roughly translates to:
I left home when young, now I am finally back.
Still have my hometown accent, but my hair are turning white.
Children don't recognize me anymore. Cheerfully ask me where I am from.

Calligraphy written in semi-cursive script by River Han

少小離家老大回,鄉音無改鬢毛衰。
兒童相見不相識,笑問客從何處來。
